The urushi plate in the shape of grape leaves is made by Hakkodo, the oldest shop in Kamakurabori. It looks like metal, but it is made of wood. It is surprisingly lightweight because it is sprinkled with pewter. Urushi is a durable material that can be washed with dish soap unless you use a hard sponge.
